On the 4th December 2025, the City of London Police introduced Report Fraud, a new national service designed to replace Action Fraud as the UK’s primary platform for reporting cybercrime and fraud.
The new service provides a streamlined online reporting tool and a dedicated contact centre, accessible via reportfraud.police.uk or by calling 0300 123 2040, the same number previously used by Action Fraud. The reporting process has been redesigned to make it faster, clearer, and more user-friendly. During the transition period, all traffic from the old Action Fraud website will automatically redirect to Report Fraud.
The National Crime Analysis Service (N-CAS) replaces Action Fraud’s legacy infrastructure and offers advanced data analysis and intelligence-sharing tools, enabling police forces across the UK to identify patterns, detect emerging threats, and coordinate investigations more effectively. Victims can now upload supporting evidence such as screenshots, documents, and metadata, giving investigators access to comprehensive information from the outset.
The former National Economic Crime Victim Care Unit continues under the new name Report Fraud Victim Service, providing specialist assistance to those affected by fraud and cybercrime. This ensures that victims receive guidance and support throughout the reporting process and beyond.
The Serious Fraud Office has been actively engaging stakeholders to raise awareness of the new system, and a full public campaign is expected in early 2026. Report Fraud represents a decisive step toward a data-driven approach to tackling fraud and cyber crime.
